So, Ty wakes up Sunday morning about 4am, climbs into bed with me and latches on like a terrified cat.
I got up to take him back to bed, and he would have none of that.
He explained that he had had a dream about a "stinging plant" and would not go back to bed. Since it was a bit too close to get-up-for-the day time, I let him go back to bed with me.
This happens on occasion, but by morning all such dreams are forgotten and life moves on. Not so on Sunday.
This dream apparently made an impression on him, because he talked about it ALL day. He told me, daddy, his bible class teacher and everyone in his bible class. He asked about 10,000 times if there as any such thing as a stinging plant. We went and did a stinging plant sweep 3 times in all the rooms of the upstairs (Apparently, the imagined horticulture had rooted itself on the ceiling in mommy's room and had grown to behind and under her bed ).
He was scared to go upstairs by himself all day, and we had to do some serious talking to get him to go to bed that night.
We moved the night light into his bedroom (note, he has slept with a night light about 3 nights in his entire life) to ease some worries. We also reminded him of his favorite song, "Be Strong and Courageous" and used it as an opportunity to explain its meaning and how it can work for him. :)
The next morning, Adrian asked if Ty had had any bad dreams (I would have just taken a lack of meniton as an adequate answer, but Super Dad wanted to make sure the offensive greenery was no longer torturing his son :)).
Ty's response, "nope, my eyes were black last night."

He was singing that in the car today.
Love the Ty-isms...."nope, my eyes were black last night" HA!!! I'm so glad. Hopefully Mommy & Daddy's eyes were black last night as well.
