I am reading "Wild at Heart" by John Eldridge right now. It has made me much more aware of how blessed my boys are to have a daddy to understands their need to be "wild" and "adventurous".
The boys have taken up geocaching. It is high-tech scavenger hunt, where you use coordinates of a "cache" (usually a container of some kind, with lots of little trinkets inside), a gps device of some kind, and go in search of it. It is a big internet thing, where you can download coordinates for local caches all over the place. You get to add something, take something, and sign a log book to say you were there. Perfect for boys :)I am not sure who is more lucky ...Ty and Canon to have a daddy who enjoys tramping through the woods looking for little boxes full of junk, or Adrian who gets to have some sweet little hero worshippers to go with him :)

They boys call this "treasure hunting." The boys (and occasionally mommy) do this about once a week or so. Daddy saved up his fun money for a couple of months, and this month purchased a hand held gps so they could increase their chances of finding the caches. The boys have had a blast finding and trading little goodies that little boys find most valuable :)

We have found some fun stuff along the way, like the turtle pond in the middle of downtown Summerville in a little out of the way park we found last weekend, or a park we had never seen before, or just some wild places where wearing flip flops was not the best idea :)
