When PIGS FLY! ..or it SNOWS IN SOUTH CAROLINA! ..might as well mean the same thing :)
Or, so we thought, until the amazing experience we had when it snowed 6-8 inches this past weekend. It was beautiful and the boys (all of them) had a blast!
It started Friday night and it was wet, mixed with sleet so it was a noisy snow:) When the boys went to bed the snow had changed to big huge flakes and was coming down like we have never seen ever! It was beautiful. The deck had a white thin blanket when they finally closed their little eyes.
By the time the electricity went out around midnight, there was 6 inches on the deck and the whole place looked like a winter wonderland. I felt like putting Christmas music on ..it would have fit perfectly.
We lost power all night, but if you had to be without it that was good time. We added blankets to everyone's beds and cuddled up to each other and slept great ..after the boys settled back down after being awake for 2 hours when the fans went off. They got to see everything covered in snow and got to fall back to sleep dreaming of all the fun they would have the next morning.
And fun they did ..all of them :)

our power only went out for 2 hours but I COULD NOT sleep without my FAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
These pictures make me feel so warm and cozy...although contrasted by the reality of the cold, wet snow. How much fun it was to share such a winter wonderland with the sheer joy of boys who've never (or I assume have never) made snow angels and built snowmen. And how amazingly beautiful to see your home, and neighborhood, covered in a blanket of snow. It was breathtaking!!! God is awesome.
